What VA Benefits Are Available for Veterans Diagnosed With Mesothelioma?

Video Transcript

There are a number of benefits that are available to veterans depending on the circumstance that they are in. First and foremost, you can bring claims against solvent, viable companies who would have exposed you to asbestos. Those are companies that made equipment that went on ships or went on pieces of equipment that you worked around. Insulation manufacturers and others who made asbestos products are companies against whom we can bring a claim in court and we are willing to pursue those claims all the way through a trial if necessary. A second avenue of recovery is through asbestos bankruptcy trusts. Many of the companies have filed for bankruptcy because they cannot pay all their liabilities. And there are a number of bankruptcy trusts that have been set up and veterans can qualify for these trusts if they worked in a location, on a ship or somewhere else where they would have been exposed to the product, and we can bring those claims. Finally, you can bring veterans claims against the government. It’s called a VA claim. We are qualified to do those and you bring a claim against the government for their responsibility for exposing you to asbestos while you were in the service. And so that’s the third avenue of recovery that can be pursued for veterans. If you have been diagnosed with mesothelioma and are a veteran, there are multiple avenues that Oslund Udo Little can pursue for you: claims against solvent companies, bankruptcy claims, and veterans claims against the VA. Those claims can all be brought by Oslund Udo Little. We have represented numerous individuals who have had similar circumstances in the past.
