$10 Million Jury Verdict for a Gentleman Exposed to Asbestos as a Baby Through Secondary Exposure
Video Transcript
One of the cases that I’m really proud of is the Kramer case. It was a really tough case because our client was exposed when he was a baby to asbestos and so he didn’t have any memory of it. So the investigation was tough, but we found what was essentially a smoking gun letter from his mom. What the mother’s letter described is our client’s father’s work at the shipyard and how he was exposed to asbestos, and his work there meant that she would launder his clothes and expose the children and the family to that asbestos. But it was tough because again we did not have anybody with knowledge who could actually speak to that. So finding these documentary pieces of evidence was really critical. We found a defendant who was responsible for really just a part of that exposure and still were able to hold them responsible. And because it was a tough case, the defendants denied responsibility until nearly the very end and we had to try it. And we received a $10 million verdict from the jury. And I know our clients felt very gratified that they were believed. I felt gratified that we were believed and they were able to achieve justice in that way. So if we have to go to trial, we will, and hopefully we’ll do a good job and win for you. If you or a loved one has been exposed to asbestos, even if you weren’t directly exposed, please still give us a call and we can talk through whether or not we can help you with that.
