Asbestos Exposure in Bremerton and Kitsap County
Video Transcript
The historical asbestos exposures for Kitsap County and towns like Port Orchard and Bremerton really come down to the presence of the Navy in that area. The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard is a very common site where our clients have been exposed. Unfortunately, we have represented hundreds of shipyard workers from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard who worked with or worked around asbestos and unfortunately got an asbestos disease from that work. You also have the Bangor Naval Subbase on the H Canal. The submarines also are a source of asbestos exposure. And then a third area that I would highlight for Kitsap County in particular has to do with the forestry services and resources we have in that area. The pulp and paper mills like Simpson down in Shelton and other areas up on the Olympic Peninsula where there’s many pulp and paper mills. Those settings required asbestos as thermal insulation for the steam systems. And we’ve had many pipe fitters, electricians, and other types of paper mill workers who have been exposed to asbestos. If you were exposed to asbestos and developed an asbestos-related disease like mesothelioma, lung cancer or asbestosis and worked at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard or the other sites in Kitsap County, contact Oslund Udo Little and we can set up an appointment to see if you have a case and something we can help you with.
