Asbestos Exposure in Seattle and King County, Washington
Video Transcript
People were exposed to asbestos in Seattle and King County historically in a number of different ways. One of the primary ways is through work in ship building and at shipyards. There’s a location called Harbor Island out in front of Seattle in Elliott Bay where two shipyards were present: Todd Shipyard and Lockheed Shipyard. Our firm has represented numerous people over the years who have been exposed to asbestos either through ships or ship dismantling and building at that location who worked in Seattle, Washington. People worked at commercial facilities in Seattle where asbestos products were used either in the downtown area or in surrounding areas. There are commercial and industrial type locations throughout King County, Washington. Boeing has a big production presence in King County, Washington. And a lot of individuals worked at the Boeing facilities either as an independent contractor or as a Boeing employee where they would have been exposed to asbestos during the manufacturing process either on pipes, sometimes in airplane components or in other ways. There are other industrial facilities in Seattle and King County where people worked with and around asbestos. And as with other locations where there’s a high population of people and a lot of buildings, there’s a lot of trade work such as carpenters, electricians, insulators, and people who work in commercial and residential buildings who would have worked with asbestos containing materials. If you or a loved one has been exposed to asbestos in Seattle or King County, Washington, in a shipyard, in an industrial facility or commercial facility or otherwise, we have the knowledge, the know-how, and experience at Oslund Udo Little to help you pursue your claim.
