Important Deadlines for Asbestos Trust Fund Claims
Video Transcript
There are a couple of deadlines that people should be aware of. The first is what’s known as a statute of limitations. And that’s basically a limit that the state law creates for someone to pursue their claim. In Washington, that’s typically 3 years after somebody is diagnosed with an asbestos related disease. In Oregon, it’s typically two years. Although if somebody dies from that asbestos-related disease, their family may have additional time to file a claim. Those same limits typically can apply to asbestos trust claims and whether or not a claim is barred is often a complex analysis and something that our attorneys are experts in determining. If you’ve been diagnosed with an asbestos-related disease and have questions about the deadlines or statute of limitations that might apply to your case or the case based upon a loved one who has been injured, give the attorneys at Oslund Udo Little a call and we’ll be able to set up a free consultation to determine whether you still have a claim.
