Meet Vanessa Oslund
Video Transcript
I’m Vanessa Oslund. I’m a partner here at Oslund Udo Little. I’ve been practicing law and in particular, representing ordinary people against large corporations and institutions for almost 20 years. I graduated from Seattle University Law School at the top of my class. I went to law school because I knew that I wanted to help ordinary people. I wanted to stand up to corporations and institutions who don’t take ordinary folks into consideration. And I wanted to fight for those people and to help them understand what their legal rights are. I’ve been lucky to do that here at Oslund Udo Little working on behalf of victims of asbestos exposure and now working on behalf of survivors of childhood sexual abuse. I’m especially energized by my clients who have survived sexual abuse while they were in juvenile detention facilities. These are our most vulnerable members of society. They’re young. They’re often disproportionately poor. They’re disproportionately brown or black. Many of them have never once had someone to stand up for them and to say that the way they were treated is wrong. And so to be able to be that advocate for them is extremely meaningful to me and makes me get out of bed every morning and come in ready to fight for them.
