Oslund Udo Little’s Commitment to Their Community

At Oslund Udo Little, we take a lot of pride in giving back to our local community. We are members of the Washington State Association of Justice as well as the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association. And these are organizations that are made up of lawyers, but their goal is to protect the rights of individuals who have been harmed and often harmed by corporations with well-funded lobbyists. And so we support these organizations because they protect the rights of our clients. One of the organizations that we’re especially proud to be affiliated with is the Sexual Violence Law Center. They are a nonprofit who provides legal services for folks who have survived sexual abuse and then have legal needs like needing to get protection orders against the perpetrator or needing assistance getting new housing to get away from the perpetrator. So really providing those wraparound legal services that we cannot provide and so we are excited to support them in their work. Another way that we support the community is we’re proud sponsors of a fellowship at Swedish Hospital that is focused on research of asbestos and other thoracic diseases. We have sponsored this fellowship for five or six years at this point and graduated multiple physicians through that research fellowship who are now practicing and do the research that we hope will one day provide better treatments to asbestos victims. Our hope in continuing to support research for asbestos-related disease is that clients in the future will have access to better treatments that can hopefully help treat and lessen the impact of mesothelioma and other asbestos-related disease on them and their families.
