What are Asbestos Trust Funds?

Video Transcript

One common question we get is what are asbestos trust funds. And this is because there has been historically a lot of attorney advertising informing people that have been harmed by asbestos that there’s been money set aside for victims of asbestos disease. And this is generally true. What this is referring to is through the bankruptcy process, companies that have been sued before, many times in asbestos cases can file for bankruptcy and set aside a portion of their enterprise value and that sits in a trust and is available to victims of asbestos disease. Unfortunately, many of these trusts have become depleted over the years as the number of cases has increased. However, there are still many trusts that have funds that are set aside for asbestos victims and as part of our process when we investigate anybody’s asbestos exposure, we are able to identify any trusts that the individual may be eligible for. If you or someone you’ve loved has been diagnosed with an asbestos-related disease and has questions about asbestos trust claims or other claims that might be available to somebody with mesothelioma, lung cancer or asbestosis, please give Oslund Udo Little a call and we can arrange a consultation with an attorney that can tell you about the process and identify any claims that might be available.
