What Happens When You Contact Oslund Udo Little: Support, Care, and Compassion
Video Transcript
The first thing that a client should expect is compassion from our team. All of our staff and attorneys have been trained in trauma-informed techniques for speaking with our clients and proceeding with their cases to ensure the least amount of re-traumatization that we can. So when you reach out to our office, the first thing we’re going to do is schedule a time for you to meet with one of our victim advocates to give us full details on what it is that you went through. And then after that, we will conduct a full investigation into your case to decide whether this is something that is worthwhile for you to bring. One of our advantages at Oslund Udo Little is that we have a huge database naming different perpetrators, where they were employed, and what years they were employed at Washington’s various juvenile detention centers. And so even if you don’t remember the name of who abused you, we are often able to find them because we represent almost a thousand other victims of sexual abuse in Washington’s detention centers. We’ll conduct that investigation and then from there we’ll figure out the best way to move forward with your case, whether it’s litigation, filing a lawsuit in court, or working with the government entity one-on-one to resolve your case in a way that is most favorable to you. And it’s important to know when you’re working with Oslund Udo Little that we are not just interested in obtaining compensation for you. What we hear over and over again is that our clients don’t just want compensation for what happened to them. They want the system to change. And we are committed to changing the system. We work with legislative and lobbying groups to advocate for changes in the juvenile justice system and we believe that through litigation we call attention to the problems in the juvenile justice system and call on the state and other government entities to change those problems. So if you are a survivor of sexual abuse while you were a juvenile in one of Washington’s detention centers, please call us so that we can help you and ensure that this doesn’t happen to other kids.
